The Buckham Gallery Fundraiser Event /
The annual fundraiser event at Buckham Gallery, in downtown Flint, Michigan, was really nice. There was so much work! And what a great turn out—the place was packed.
If you have never checked out the exhibitions at Buckham, then you really should. Michelle and Katie and company are really bringing super strong shows to the downtown Flint art scene.
I really enjoyed seeing these three reds on a wall. Up until now, I don’t think I have had an opportunity to show these paintings.

Your Silent Face, the Novel, Enters the Flint Public Library /
The book reading and discussion at the Flint Public Library was a blast. I had a great time. The newly renovated library is gorgeous. And now Your Silent Face is part of the library’s fiction catalog. I am thrilled about that. So check it out—pun intended!

A Fluorescent Flow: Reaching for an Abstract Painting /
I have been reading about being in the flow. It’s a state of mind. You can check it out if you are interested. I’ve also been looking at a lot of abstract paintings. It is definitely not my strength, but I have wanted to try to paint a series of abstract paintings for some time. I decided to buy some fluorescent colors and go for it. For this piece, I wound up falling back on some of my prior imagery. I am hoping this piece is a gateway to a pure abstract painting.
Becoming More Tangible While Becoming Less Real, 2023
This playlist is a companion to my 80s coming-of-age novel, Your Silent Face. Stuart Page is a protagonist obsessed with 80s New Wave and Ian Curtis, the lead singer of Joy Divison. All of the tunes and bands in the playlist get a mention in the novel. The novel is available on Amazon.
Your Silent Face: a New Painting /
Continuing with the theme of small works. This painting is on a Fabriano fine grain postcard block, 5”x7”. The image of the astronaut is borrowed from the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. I greatly admire this film, and the orange space suits are sexy.
